Every year we give at least $5.000 to one or more charitys. The first year the charity was given to a shelter for abused women in Kongo. The second year we helped the family of 7 year old Poonam in Bohpal. After seeing and hearing the story about her from awarded photographer Alex Masi we are happy to know that our charity changed her life.

From Tuesday 14th, 2012, 34 fantastic photographs will be presented in our Foajé and Lobby.

Anders Stimmer is one of the most eccentric and politically incorrect artists ever to have graduated form The Royal Art Academy in Stockholm. Stimmer paints in a classic figurative manner while his self-invented and persistent mythology revolves around young women in dark woods, surrounded by strange stunted figures and theatrical props. Stimmer’s unsurpassed strength lies in his ability to highlight a young woman’s psychological complexity in a way that is immediately striking and sometimes even deterrent. His girls are provocative and exposed, vulnarable and defiant, dominant and victimized all at the same time, which is reflected in their intense gazed, often directed
straight at the viewer.

Anders Stimmer, b. 1976, has exhibited extensively in Sweden and participated recently in Verket at Avesta Art and ”Anders Stimmer” at Museum Anna Nordlander.

Around 400 B.C. the prevailing medical doctrine of the time – the humoral pathology theory- was based on the idea that an individual’s health status was determined by bodily fluids or humors. Four different fluids were categorized: blood, phlegm, black bile and yellow bile. When all four were in balance, the health was intact. But when one of the humors dominated, imbalance occured and diseases arose. For example, an excess of black bile resulted in deep depression.

This exhibition does not aim to problematize or investigate. Rather, it intends to wallow in the anxiety that arises in the modern secular life, in which individual freedom calls for extreme gestures as well as for paralyzing passivity. In a seemingly futile existence, the step between light and dark forces is marginal. Our participating artists are interested in these forces and in the emotional states that stem from a surplus av black bile.

SSION (pronounced as in obsession, passion, possession) is an extravagant and constantly mutation neo-pop-queer-artpunk-performance collective led by the front man Cody Critcheloe. Until recently SSION has reveled in an underground existence with a cult following, just under the high culture-radar in the USA. Today SSION has become an internationally acknowledged art phenomenon, closely watched by the media as well as the public. Among the cutting edge arenas that have embraced SSION are Peres Projects in Berlin and MoMA PS1 in NY, which recently produced a three day bombastic performance marathon by SSION.

The framework of SSIONʼs output is music, they have released four albums and toured all over the USA, as well as in England, Germany and France. The songs move between sleezy pop and punk, and the music critics have praised Critcheloe as Princeʼs love child and the master of concept pop. At the same time the music is just one side of the Gesamtkunstverk that is SSION and Cody Critcheloe.

Critcheloe, born in 1980 in Kentucky, USA, writes all lyrics and music and art directs all of SSION:s videos, which are punky and campy narratives about everything from his own life to popular culture and psychology. Humor and satire are Critcheloeʼs modus operandi, which makes his art entertaining. His stories are a mix of his alter ego, different characters and parodies of pop icons such as Madonna, or psychological archetypes as the dominant Woman.

Critcheloe controls SSIONʼs flamboyant aesthetics, where the do-it-yourself sensibility is so meticulously executed that it has become a distinctive style of its own. SSIONʼs installations, in which the videos often are presented, tend to take over the whole space where paintings and drawings, illustrating the videos, are woven into a large net of SSION lexicon painted right on the wall: mason triangles, black and white stripes and zigzags, the iconic black nose and moustache.

At Lydmar Hotel SSION presents an installation with paintings, drawings and three new videos. The central work, video PSY-CHIC, is a story of the struggle between good and evil within the same person. The two alter-egos: the male and the female, start a dramatic affair which ends with the death of the ultimate victim, the love child symbolized by the Dog.
